On Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at 7:30 p.m., Laura Morton and James Estrin, senior staff photographer at the New York Times and co-editor of LENS blog, will be at the Half King in New York discussing the stories and context behind Morton’s latest exhibition: The Social Stage
Laura’s project, shot in black and white, about San Francisco’s one percent at play in the fields of philanthropy. These are not your run of the mill society pages pics, but an up-close look at a set that contributes hugely to the arts while also drawing a certain ire for filing creative tax returns.
Please join us — we will have the usual specials: $4 draft beers and humble sweet potato fries — balance for the glamor on the walls, but just as tasty.
Curated by James Price and Anna Van Lenten, the exhibition will be on view at the Half King through Jan. 12, 2013.
